“We are excited to be charter owners in this new venture and be participants in charting the future of “up north” at Pine Haven and Blackwater Lake for our family, for the other cabin owners, and for all the summer guests as well. The new owners of the Resort were very open and accommodating in helping us understand the Cooperative Association form of property ownership and achieving a “dream come true”. This past summer, we used our cabin three weeks for our own use, enjoyed a couple long weekends when renters were not coming in, and then rented on a weekly basis, just like a regular resort, the remainder of the summer. The income from the rental has enabled us to begin some updating and improvements to the cabin (new furnace was priority #1) as well as enabling us to accelerate the reduction of the outstanding principal on the cabin mortgage. Yes, there are other “up north’s” like Pine Haven Resort and Blackwater Lake. But this “up north” ranks at the top. It’s the best investment we have ever made. “Thirty years ago we stayed at the Cokato Lake Campground for a few weekends. The following year, we became seasonals,and remained so for 27 years. We then became owners of 2 sites. Our kids always looked forward to the weekend when we would go camping at Cokato Lake. Now our grand kids and great grand kids love to come here. It is a wonderful place for kids (and adults). Needless to say, we love it. There is always something to do, fishing, mini-golf, weekend activities, visiting or just relaxing. Come join us at Cokato Lake Resort.”

“As a family with young children as well as teenagers,we have found Cokato Lake RV Resort to be the best in the State of Minnesota out of many we have visited. Not only is it the cleanest resort we have found, but the most friendly. When looking for a resort it was important that we found a place that was friendly, fun for our kids, full of activities for young and old, close to our home in the Twin Cities and a place we’d love to spend a good majority of our summers at. Cokato Lake has been all that and more. The lot purchasing aspect of the resort was a no-brainer for us. We couldn’t see paying the same amount per year just leasing a lot and getting nothing in return if we decided to leave the resort. We were the first to purchase a lot at Cokato and never looked back! The association and committees are very well organized and focus on always improving the resort and keeping it fun. In my mind there is no place else that is close to the Twin Cities that offers all that Cokato Lake does. This will always be the best memories of our kids’ childhood and hope they continue the tradition for many generations!!”

“I Love the Cokato Lake Campground! Location, location! 30 miles from our home and we’re at the lake! The campground is clean and kept up, it looks just as nice at the end of the summer as it does in May. The people in charge do a good job of keeping the grounds and restrooms clean and nice looking. Our family likes all the many well planned activities that go on through out the summer. The dances, karaoke, bingo,pancake breakfasts and best of all Christmas in July and Halloween in August are some of our favorites. We are entertained every weekend. If there isn’t a planned activity, our kids and grandkids are either in the pool of fishing in the lake or playing on the beach. We like the sense of community at the Cokato Lake Campground.”
